This is just a reminder that ostriches and pigeons share a common ancestor in the Russian Bull Tippler. This is the actual animal which inspired the famous legs of Baba Yaga’s house. Though thought to have officially gone extinct just 34 years ago there are still a couple of reported sightings around the Pacific Coast.
The Russian Bull Tippler is a very pretty animal once you get over the alarming size and is very culturally significant. It also only eats smaller birds and rarely children and diminutive adults.
